Translate Hindi to English the way locals mean it.

Hindi often softens refusals, disappointment, and sarcasm through words like अभी, तो, यार, and हाँ हाँ, so a literal translation can sound more neutral or sincere than the message really is.

What locals actually say

अरे यार, अभी तो टाइम नहीं है, बाद में देखते हैं।

I really don’t have time right now. Let’s deal with it later.
अरे यार signals familiar exasperation, while अभी तो and बाद में देखते हैं often soften a postponement that may really mean “not now” or even “probably not.”

तुमसे ये उम्मीद नहीं थी।

I expected better from you.
उम्मीद नहीं थी literally means “I didn’t expect it,” but this construction is commonly a reproach showing disappointment, not neutral surprise.

हाँ हाँ, कर लो तुम अपनी मर्ज़ी।

Yeah, sure, do whatever you want.
Repeated हाँ हाँ and the placement of तुम often make this sound irritated or resigned, so it usually signals sarcasm rather than genuine permission.

मेरे पास खुले नहीं हैं, तुम पाँच सौ दे दो, मैं अभी ऑनलाइन भेज देता हूँ।

I don't have change, so could you pay 500 rupees? I'll transfer it to you online right now.
खुले means change, while दे दो is a casual peer request. The combination signals an everyday, informal money arrangement.

भैया, मेट्रो के लिए यहीं से मुड़ना है क्या?

Excuse me, do I turn here for the metro?
भैया is a familiar but respectful way to address a male stranger in everyday Hindi. यहीं से ... है क्या is a colloquial way to ask for directions.

आज दाल में नमक कुछ ज़्यादा पड़ गया है।

The dal turned out a little too salty today.
दाल is the everyday Hindi term for lentils, and पड़ गया signals an unintended result, making the complaint sound conversational rather than formal.

मम्मी को बोल देना कि मैं रात को देर से आऊँगा।

Tell Mum I'll be home late tonight.
को बोल देना is a casual Hindi construction meaning to pass a message along. मम्मी marks familiar family speech.

बॉस ने आज फिर मीटिंग कैंसल कर दी, अब जान में जान आई।

The boss cancelled the meeting again today, so I can finally breathe.
जान में जान आना is a Hindi idiom for feeling relief after tension. कैंसल is a common Hinglish loanword used in casual workplace speech.

Notes like these come with every AIRTranslate translation, so you learn why locals phrase it that way as you go.

How Hindi differs

Hindi (India). आप respectful default, तुम peer-casual; everyday Hinglish loanwords are natural in casual register (टाइम, फोन, ऑफिस); avoid stiff shuddh-Hindi purisms where locals use common Urdu/English-origin words.
